In some Brunetti stories I have read I sometimes missed characters that are more present and that Brunetti deals with in a more human way, not just asking who knows whom or small talking about something. In this story there are a lot of individuals that play a more active role. That's the reason why I consider Aqua Alta as one of the best Donna Leon - Brunetti stories.To those that want to see some police-action Aqua Alta does not disappoint you either, at the end of the story it gets pretty action-packed in comparison with other Brunetti stories and as far as you can tell a Brunetti story action-packed.The background of the characters and how they are involved in the crime makes absolutely sense too and the story gets really more exciting as you read on and reaches it's peak at the end. The main area Brunetti deals with is archeology and art but that's not decrease the mood of a reader because Donna Lean is really good at presenting and writing about this topic.Aqua Alta is a must-read to everyone who loves Brunetti and to those who expects Aqua Alta to be creepy and spooky I can assure you that despite some high water (Aqua Alta) events this Brunetti story is not eerier as other Brunetti stories.

Es geht um Kunstraub im großen Stil.Die Geschichte ist durchgehend spannend erzählt. Manchesmal lebte ich richtig mit den Figuren mit. Das Buch hat 370 Seiten, die sehr leserlich gesetzt sind. Alles in allem eine empfehlenswerte Geschichte und ein gelungener Brunetti Band.

Jeder Fall ein neuer Genuss. Eine super Mischung aus italienischem Alltag, Krimispannung,, man möchte Venedig ich echt kennenlernen bzw. hat das Gefühl man ist dort und kennt sich aus.

Spannung, gute Erzählung über Venedig, als Stadt und Lebensbereich. Alle Personen interessant beschrieben. Fünf Tage wanderte ich heuer durch Venedigs Strassen. Erinnerungen ohne Ende.

Zustand des Buches wie beschrieben und sehr schneller Versand.

Dieser Krimi hat mir wirklich gut gefallen. Es kommen alle Elemente angemessen vor wie Patta, der Chef von Brunetti, die Familie von Brunetti aber auch das Umfeld Venedig. Auch die Geschichte ist wirklich bis zum Schluss sehr spannend. Auch empfiehlt sich dieses Buch zum Lesen in Englisch.

Bancroft's Buch handelt von physische und verbale Gewalt, die von einem Partner in einer Beziehung mit einer anderen Person ausgeübt wird, aber auch von kontrollierendem und manipulativem Verhalten, also dem subtileren negativem Verhalten in einer unglücklichen Beziehung. Das Buch gehört dabei eigentlich in die Kategorie Selbsthilfe und ist an den misshandelten Partner in der Beziehung gerichtet, aber liest sich auch sehr gut als lehrreiches Psychologiebuch, mit dem man in die Psyche des gewalttätigen Patienten eindringen kann. Bancroft beschreibt dafür verschiedene Arten des gewalttätigen oder kontrollierenden Verhaltens und wie man sie erkennen kann. Außerdem gibt der Author auch Tipps und Hilfen für misshandelte Partner an.Positiv finde ich besonders die vielen Beispiele und erklärenden Situationen und wie der Author den Leser auf die vielen kleinen Details aufmerksam macht. So regt das Buch auch zum Nachdenken über eigene kleine Fehler in der eigenen Beziehung an und kann auch in einer überwiegend glücklichen Beziehung noch zu Verbesserungen führen.Das Thema ist äußerst interessant und ich würde das Buch auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen. Leider habe ich Bancroft's Bücher nicht auf deutsch entdeckt, und da sich das Buch als Selbsthilfematerial an amerikanische Leser richtet, sind einige der Tipps nur für AmerikanerInnen nützlich (z.B. eine Liste der helfenden Organisationen oder Telefonnummern), aber andere Tipps sind wiederum universell anwendbar.

It was frightening, painful and at the same time empowering to learn so much about how the abuse I was subjected to actually worked. I recommend this book to everyone who suspects that they might be a victim of abuse.I only wish there was a German version to hand out to a couple of my relatives who really need to read this...

This book describe first handed and researched by the author and commited by abusive men, cleary and undeniable THEY CHOOSE to treat their partners bad. Great insight - and great great help to recognize patterns and red flags when they occure!If you ever wondered whats so terribly wrong in your relationsship and you can't really pinpoint what it is- exactly, and nobody quite seems to understand what you are talking about. Please check and read this book- If you do get your answers. And deep insight!

The author is someone who's worked with many abusive men as a part of their court order. The book is divided in four main parts. One deals with the abusive man's way of thinking. Two describes how the abusive man acts in a relationship. Three is about the abuser and other people. Four talks about changing the abusive man.I found part one and two particularly helpful. In the end it's pretty clear what constitutes abuse and what doesn't. And once you realize who you're dealing with there is little doubt in your mind about what to do next.

An excellent book! I would recommend it not only to those who have to deal with abusers but also to everyone who wants to understand the dynamics of abusive relationships and wants to avoid such experience in the future. Emotional and psychological abuse is rather quite common in many relationships around us and it is often wrongly labeled as macho attitude, rudeness, intolerance etc.Therefore, the book should be read by anyone who wants to know more about the world around us.

War einfach neugierig und bin jetzt eher überrascht. Wer sich in dieser Hinsicht noch nie so richtig damit auseinander gesetzt hat, kann hier wohl richtig sparen, bevor man einen Fehler macht. Die Erläuterungen leuchten ein und man geht ein eventuell bestehendes Problem von der richtigen Seite an. Ob man zur Miete wohnt, oder seine Behausung sein eigen nennt. Mit diesem Ratgeber wird man gut aufgeklärt, bevor der Ärger los gehen könnte. Ein Blick hier rein lohnt sich jedenfalls, denke ich. Zumindest gefällt mir dieser sehr.

Handwerk hat goldenen Boden! Hin und wieder passiert es schon, daß im Haushalt oder woanders etwas kaputt geht. Und nicht alles kann man selbst beheben - man braucht einen speziellen Handwerker - einen Gärtner - einen Helfer, der genau das tun kann, was wir selbst nicht können. Hier wird erörtert, wie man sich am Besten verhält und wie man den richtigen Helfer finden kann - große und hilfreiche Unterstützung!

Dieses Problem hatze ich schon öfter.Der Wasserhahn tropft,das Dach leckt,oder der Boden quillt auf.Da ist es hilfreich,einen Handwerker zu kennen.Wer aber dieses Glück nicht hat,ist gut beraten,sich von diesem Buch den richtigen Tipp geben zu lassen,wo man welchen Handwerker für welches Problem in Haus oder Garten finden kann.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem seriösen Handwerker. Da bin ich auf dieses Buch gestoßen und fand es sehr interessant.Es ist gar nicht so einfach einen guten Handwerker zu finden.In diesem Buch gibt es eine Anleitung, wie man geziehlter einen richtigen Handwerker findet.Empfehlenswerter Ratgeber

Nachdem ich hier einen Handwerker hatte für mein Badezimmer, der leider extrem überteuert war hab ich mir gedacht ich such mir mal ein Buch dazu und tatsächlich gibt es eins.Das Buch ist gut gemacht und zeigt auf was man achten sollte um keine böse Überraschung zu bekommen.

Mit dem letzten Handwerker hatte ich leider viel Pech und brauchte ein paar Tipps worauf man bei Handwerkern achten soll. Dieses Buch ist leicht verständlich geschrieben und gibt viele Ratschläge bei der Handwerkersuche.Mir wird dieses Buch helfen, dass ich das nächste mal einen seriösen Handwerker finde.

Ich finde dieses Buch einfach klasse. Habe es wegen einer aktuellen Baustelle gekauft, auf der es viele Probleme gab mit den Handwerkern. Allein die Idee, so einen Ratgeber zu schreiben, ist genial!

*Die J-Class enstand in ihrer jetzigen Form in der Zeit zwischen den beiden Weltkriegen und war das Spielzeug von reichen Unternehmern, die sich den Luxus dieser aufregenden Rennmaschinen leisten konnten. Die damals festgelegte Konstruktionsklasse "J" war auf 26 Meter Wasserlinie und einem Tiefgang von 4,5 Meter beschränkt. Durch die weiten Überhänge (Bugspriet war verboten) wurde das Schiff bei Kränkung einfach länger und damit schneller. Herausgekommen ist eines der schönsten Segelschiffarten, die jemals gebaut worden sind: lange, schmale Rümpfe und schier unendliche Segelflächen in Sluptakelung!Im Buch des berühmten Segelfotografen Franco Pace werden sieben dieser Superyachten vorgestellt, die in teils höchst aufwändiger Restaurierungsarbeit wieder zum Leben erweckt worden sind! Thor Heyerdahl was a Norwegian explorer, adventurer, and writer. Born in 1914, he became famous for his daring 1947 Kon-Tiki expedition. He died in Italy in 2002.

A most enjoyable read by Thor Heyerdahl who beautifully describes the preparations for his voyage across the Pacific on a balsa raft and tells of the journey itself in full detail. An excellent narration of an incredible voyage!

Trotzdem dieses Abenteuer schon so lange her ist, hat es nichts von seiner Spannung verloren, man kann das Buch kaum weglegen.

Buch wie in der Beschreibung angekommen. Eintauchen in die Welt von Thor Heyerdahl und seiner Reise mit dem Floss aus Balsaholz der Polynesier. Ein schöner Roman wie auch der Film der Geschichte schrieb

Spannend strukturiert.Neben der reinen Expedition werden viele interessante Details beschrieben und es wird nie langweilig.Man ist als Leser quasi mittendrin.

Manche halten es ja für eine Meisterleistung, wenn sich ein Mensch vom Rande der Atmosphäre zur Erde fallen läßt. Doch hier lassen sich 6 Wagemutige in die Menschheitsgeschichte des pazifischen Raumes fallen und zwar mit einfachsten Mitteln. Was T.H. dort berichtet ist trotz allen Haarsträube-Potentzials mit einem Augenzwinkern versehen. Sicher auch, weil alles gewonnen wurde.Hut ab!!

Zu meiner Jugemdzeit jabe ich Kon Ziki zum Ersten mal gelesen, ich war damals wie heute fasziniert. In der Zwischenzeit war ich ein paar mal im Thor Hexerdahl Museum in Oslo, wo die Kon Tiki mit einem Walhai-Modell ausgestellt ist. Wersich das ansieht, kann die Leistung von Heyerdahl und seinen Männern erst richtig begreifen.

Thor Heyerdahl und seine Mitarbeiter zeigen, was möglich gewesen wäre. Mit Mut, Verbissenheit und Fantasie machen sie graue Theorie anschaulich. Ein spannendes absolut lesenswertes Werk, dass auch Jahrzehnte nach seiner Ersterscheinung nichts von seiner Faszination verloren hat.

War ein Geschenk.Ist gut angekommen.Die Lieferung kam sehr schnell an und das Buch war in einem guten Zustand.
