Herzgrab hat mir gut gefallen und hat mich voll und ganz gefesselt. Es ist eine recht komplexe Handlung und durchgehend spannend. Die Charaktere fand ich auch sehr gut und die Handlung, zum Teil in Wien und zum Teil in Italien, war ebenfalls recht interessant.Trotzdem fand ich die Serie mit Maarten S. Snejder und Sabine Nemez noch besser, da warte ich bereits sehnsüchtig auf den 3. Teil!

Anfänglich etwas schwierig in die Geschichte reinzukommen, wahrscheinlich weil ich sie zu zeitnah nach *Sneijder* angefasst habe!- spannend, allerhöchstes Familiendrama a la Bella italia ♥️ diesmal war mir der mörder, bzw der Fadenzieher nicht bekannt 🙈Schön verwirrend und packend unterm Radar geschrieben! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Ein sehr spannendes Buch. Ich finde alle Bücher von Andreas Gruber sehr spannend. Dieses habe ich bis jetzt nur angefangen, aber auch der Anfang ist super.

Ich bin Fan von diesem Autor und auch dieses Buch (Hörbuch) ist wie immer spannend und gut erzählt und vorgelesen.Empfehlung!

Andreas Gruber gehört aktuell zu meinen Lieblingsautoren und diesen Platz hat er mit Herzgrab nur noch weiter gefestigt. Angenehm kurze Kapitel, sehr gut geschrieben und der Plot ist schlüssig und nachvollziehbar. Daumen hoch!

M. Gruber ist einer meiner Favoriten. Lese alle seine Bücher und freu mich immer, wenn ein neues Erscheint :)Lese sie alle immer fix durch. (Leider^^)

Mrs. Everything (great title) is the story of two sisters, from their early childhood in 1951 through the present day -- and even beyond -- to the end of their lives. Bethie is the younger sister, preferred by her mother, expected to be pretty and traditional. Jo is the older sister, preferred by their father, awkward and smart and unwilling to wear dresses or conform. Their names are a pretty clear allusion to Little Women, and a lot of this book does straddle that line between archetype and cliche, as Jo and Bethie go through all the expected rites of passage of the timeframe: conformity of the 50s, SDS rebellion and drug experimentation in the 60s, retreat to conservative expectations in the Reagan 80s, and on. They also, between them, tackle all the tropes that one would put on a list: loss of parent, sexual experimentation, sex abuse, student rebellion, abuse by men in all kinds of different ways, etc.Does this sound like a criticism? I don't really mean for it to! I love this kind of book, the kind of book that Herman Wouk and Taylor Caldwell and Susan Isaacs used to write, the big old family saga. It's really out of character for Jennifer Weiner, a break from her more traditional women's literature, and it feels like she's actually found a sweet spot here. Relying on archetypes is not a bad thing to do in this kind of read; there's a reason they're archetypes. It's sort of deeply satisfying. And the writing is better than anything I've read from Ms. Weiner before. It's clear, detailed, and deeply invested. There's also a nice unexpected arc to the choices the sisters make, as their lives wind into adulthood and beyond.I loved every time I went to dive back into this book, it was like eating a big old fashioned box of chocolates. (Forrest Gump ruined that line, sorry.) Sure, it's kind of old fashioned. And you kind of know what is going to be in there, there's going to be some caramels and some nuts and some vanilla creams. But man, does it taste good, and man, are you happy every time you sit down.I will say that underneath the sort of predictable stuff, there are some undercurrents that are a bit new. For instance, there is some exploration of how the young men fighting for civil rights in the 1960s still expected the women to do women's work; about the retreat to conservatism in the 1980s, and how women seem to keep fighting the same battles again and again, to be heard, to be themselves. This feminist theme to the big soapy saga is different, and subtle, and nice.So...I have not historically been a huge fan of Ms. Weiner, finding some of her work predictable and safe. But this one bought me back around. This was just a huge amount of fun and a deeply satisfying book to read.

I have bought and read all Jennifer Weiner’s books and loved them. Mrs. Everything is a huge disappointment. The lesbian sex scenes and drug use are endless. Halfway through, I see where the author is going with the sisters’ relationship, but the story drags. This is the first of her books that is easy to put down.

I must have stopped reading this book a minimum of 20 times to say to myself "I just can't read much more of this constant over the top drama. It's as if the author thought, let me take this family of four, " parents and 2 daughters " and give them every depressing, violating , scary, upsetting, life ending and altering situation and see how the readers enjoy it. Well this reader did not enjoy it. The storyline was so over the top in angst, you know sooner react to one horrible situation , then there is another one and another one and that is this entire read that spans over the course of 70 plus years for this family . Honestly I became de-sensitized from this read because it was just too much " bad stuff " happening. Another reason I did not enjoy this read was the " word vomit " of this book. I swear pages and pages and pages went on and on about someone's home décor, or job description ,or holiday food menu. It was endless words for unnecessary over the top details. This book just took so many detours in the storytelling, I felt like the author kept getting side tracked to give us a history lesson spanning the time frame of the years that turned into more of a annoyance then anything else for me. Time spans jump by decades in this read at times., You go from turtle slow crawl reading to road runner speed jumping., I never felt like I really got to know many of the characters because there is so much going on, you just keep getting names, lots of lots of names of people but you don't really get to know the characters well enough. This book read like a time capsule .It's like the author was telling the story and trying to give this family every heartbreaking drama and trauma situation she could come up with plus adding every injustice that occurred during the 60's,70's 80's …. and threw that at them to boot. I did not enjoy this book, it starts out sad, ends sad and everything in -between was taxing and grueling and again just way too much for one read. That is just my opinion though, I'm not saying it was the worst read for me.It just was way too over the top for my taste.

I wish I could get my money back! I will never read another book by this author, she has lost her touch.

I think I could have highlighted something on every page. Jennifer Weiner hit this one out of the park. My preorder for the hardcover is already in!
